A property maintenance inspector will investigate the property within 4 business days. For tall grass, the property owner is given 10 working days from the day an inspector comes out to conduct their initial inspection. The inspector will return to re-inspect the property after the 10 working days. If the violation has not been corrected, the inspector may grant an extension or will arrange for the grass to be cut. Once cut, a lien will be placed on the property for the services provided. For trash, if a violation is found; the property owner is given 30 days to remove the trash/debris/outside storage of materials from their property. The Codes Inspector will go out to re-inspect to see if the violation has been corrected. If it hasn't been corrected the owner can be issued a summons or, may be given an extension at the Inspector's discretion. It is a lengthy process and could take a few months.
